Emily Kulkus

Emily Kulkus is an award-winning communicator with more than 18 years of experience in journalism, publishing, editing, marketing and public relations. She is currently a digital content manager at Syracuse-based web content and SEO company Terakeet. She previously worked as assistant director of public and media relations for Upstate University Hospital and has taught in the M.S. in Communications program since it began. 

During nearly a decade with Syracuse Newspapers, Emily worked in a variety of positions, including assistant managing editor for features and reporter on the investigations/enterprise team. She has won several awards for her reporting and editing and has extensive experience with social media. She previously held positions as the web content manager for the Newhouse School and marketing coordinator for Fleet Feet Sports, Syracuse. She has also worked as an adjunct newswriting professor and tutor for Newhouse’s military visual journalism program.
