Welcome, Class of 2026!
Welcome to Newhouse! This page serves as a resource for information about courses, advising, registration and other academic topics.
Check out the University’s Required Tasks on the Becoming Orange website. Familiarize yourself with the website as it includes important information and deadlines you will have to follow during the summer.
Fall 2022 Course Registration
- Step One: Complete the Qualtrics survey sent to your SU email by Friday, June 3, 2022. This asks some basic questions about possible AP/transfer credit, activities, etc. If you have any questions while completing this survey, please email the Advising Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Step Two: Take the Foreign Language and Mathematics Placement Exams by Friday, June 3, 2022.
- Step Three: In June and July the Advising Office will use the information provided in the Qualtrics survey and your placement exam results to start building your class schedule. We will register you for your Newhouse courses and a few core requirements.
- Step Four: During the week of August 1-5, 2022, you register for some liberal arts classes to complete your schedule. Do not worry! We will be there every step of the way to ensure you have a well-balanced schedule. More information on that process will come in July. Make sure to check your SU email at least once a week.
Using your Syracuse Email (SUMail)
We will be sending all communications to your Syracuse University (@syr.edu) email account, SUmail. Important information will be directed to that account and not to the email account you used in your application.
Email communications will go only to you and not to your parents and/or guardians. Be sure to check it at least once a week!
