Graduate Advising

Newhouse offers graduate students a strong support network when it comes to advising and registration. Most advising is done by program directors and other faculty members during established advising sessions. The Graduate Records Office, the Office of Doctoral Studies and the Office of Executive Education facilitate and support the logistics related to completing your degree requirements.

The Syracuse University Graduate Course Catalog contains the official and approved curricula for each of our programs. Term-by-term advising sheets are updated yearly and available at the time of admission on our new students section and in the graduate guidebook.

Any procedural questions concerning your professional program at Newhouse, such as program of study requirements, rules and regulations, policies, or transfer of credits should be directed to this office.

Registration and advising for students in the media studies master’s program and the Ph.D. program is facilitated by our Office of Doctoral Studies, 454 Newhouse 3.

Coordination of the communications management master’s degree program is handled through the Office of Executive Education.
