What he teaches ...
Nathan Eaton teaches undergraduate and graduate students fundamental graphic design concepts and strategies. Bringing his industry experience into the classroom, he focuses on ideation, print design, UX/UI and web design, and always with an emphasis on design theory.
Nathan’s design career began at a boutique design studio in Syracuse, which offered him the rare opportunity of creating and maintaining brand identities from ideation to fruition. During his time as a commercial designer, Nathan’s responsibilities have included publications, corporate collateral, identity systems, web interfaces, presentation design and motion graphics. His work has received numerous accolades from prestigious organizations such as American Corporate Identity, American Graphic Design Award, PICA Award, and REBRAND 100.
Concurrently pursuing his MFA in Graphic Design at the Vermont College of Fine Arts while teaching both at Newhouse and at another local higher education institution, Eaton is a student at heart and hopes to inspire students to the same curiosity and initiative that have led him this far. He holds a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
