Michael Maher

Michael Maher has specialized in digital during his more than 25-year career in advertising, media and marketing. He has spearheaded award-winning campaigns for well-known brands like American Express, HBO, Verizon, Jose Cuervo, Delta Airlines, Audi, Nestle, Bank of America, Genentech and French Culinary Institute. His experience and expertise include starting an ad agency’s digital division and a media agency’s healthcare division, as well as guiding clients and agencies on improving their digital marketing strategies.

Maher is very active in the digital marketing industry, authoring industry thought leadership articles on subjects such as wearables, mobile, social media, CRM, content marketing, voice search, programmatic media, ROI and data-driven marketing. He is also a frequent creative contest judge for industry award competitions like the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) ECHO Awards and MMandM Healthcare Awards.

Earlier in his career, Maher was an award-winning newspaper photojournalist, twice named New England Photographer of the Year, and winning many awards from the Associated Press, national Press Photographers, National Press Photographers, Boston Press Photographers and New England Press. He also is author of the photo instruction book “Great Shot.”

In addition to serving as Communications@Syracuse instructor and section lead, Maher counsels MBA student career development at the Yale School of Management.
