Newhouse alumna Tonia O’Connor ’91 is one of over 40 women executives who have announced initiatives to advance women in the workplace. The announcements were made as part of the 2018 MAKERS Conference, held Feb. 5 in Los Angeles.

O’Connor is chief revenue officer with Univision Communications Inc. She is also chair of the Newhouse Advisory Board.

“We will offer annual development training and experiences for both senior and emerging female leaders, reaching over 60 percent of VP+ women by the end of 2018, and 100 percent by 2020,” O’Connor pledged.

The MAKERS Conference is sponsored by MAKERS@, a partnership program that connects female leaders from partner companies and provides them with the tools and inspiration to make a bold impact on their organizations and society at large.

At Univision, O’Connor drives an integrated content monetization strategy and oversees all of the company’s revenue streams. She is a graduate of the broadcast and digital journalism program.
