In Memoriam: Bruce Tufeld ’76

Hollywood agent and manager Bruce Tufeld ’76, an alumnus of the television, radio and film program at the Newhouse School, died Jan. 15. He was 66.

Tufeld began his career as an assistant at ICM Partners in Los Angeles, and was later promoted to agent. He guided the early careers of actors Laura Dern, Ralph Macchio, Rob Lowe and Kelsey Grammer, among others.

He later worked at Writers & Artists Agency and the Artists Agency before becoming a personal manager. Under the aegis of Tufeld Entertainment Group, his clients included Charlie Robinson, Jim Beaver, Leslie Easterbrook and William Allen Young.

Tufeld was a loyal alumnus and supporter of Syracuse University, and was active with the Syracuse University Alumni Association.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Emily (Schwartz) Tufeld ‘76, two children, a granddaughter and three siblings.

A private celebration of his life will be held on March 2.
