Gutterman co-authors article on legal implications of thermal sensing in newsgathering

Roy Gutterman, director of the Tully Center for Free Speech and associate professor of newspaper and online journalism, co-authored (with Angela Rulffes) an article for the Communications Law and Policy journal titled, "The Heat is On: Thermal Sensing and Newsgathering – A Look at the Legal Implications of Modern Newsgathering."

"Although much newsgathering law is relatively well-defined when it comes to issues such as intrusions with police ride-alongs or surreptitious newsgathering, new technological advances demand new guidelines," they wrote.
