Graduate students win Mobile Mag contest with $1k prize

Neha, a digital magazine idea focused on “compassionate travel” and “all things vegan travel,” won this year’s Newhouse Mobile Magazine Competition, which concluded in a finals round on April 13-14.

The annual, three-round competition gives a $1,000 prize to a group of graduate students who come up with an idea for a new, digitally focused startup publication that students pitch to an industry panel of Newhouse alumni. Six teams competed for this year’s top prize. The winning idea will be officially launched this summer during the magazine, newspaper and online journalism (MNO) graduate capstone.
