Orange Central’s premier event takes place tonight, Friday, Sept. 13, at the Oncenter, where three alumni will be honored with the George Arents Award—the University’s highest honor.

One of the three recipients is Newhouse alumnus Sean McDonough ’84. McDonough is one of television’s most accomplished broadcasters, having called nearly every major sporting event during a decorated 35-year career. The veteran ESPN commentator remains one of the network’s lead voices, calling marquee college football primetime games, the College Football Playoff and college basketball broadcasts. McDonough has also handled play-by-play duties for the World Series, the Olympics, all four major golf championships and Monday Night Football.

The event will also include the presentation of the Generation Orange Award, which goes to young alumni who have made significant contributions to their communities and to the University.
