"Brush & Needle" is a documentary that looks at culture in East Asia through the lens of tattoos and tattoo practices within the region. It builds on research into the historical context of the stigma surrounding tattoos in China and Japan by presenting ethnographic interviews the pair filmed with tattoo artists and other members of this epistemic community overseas.

"Brush & Needle" is shot, directed, and edited by Marzolf based on prior research and planning by Wang.
