Keren Henderson first learned to tell audio-visual stories as a celebrity wedding videographer and editor in Santa Barbara, California. After completing her master's degree in mass communication, she translated her storytelling skills into a journalism career as a local television news producer.

Henderson returned to academia in 2010 to pursue her Ph.D. Now a doctor of mass communication, her research interests include the culture of American local television newsrooms as well as the relationship between the business and the craft of making news.

Henderson teaches undergraduate courses in broadcast and digital journalism and graduate courses in communications.
