What Is It Like To Attend the Academy?

“I will definitely recommend this program to colleagues in my network, especially those who not just seek a leadership training opportunity but a transformative, holistic, self-discovery journey.  The well-crafted curriculum, the quality and insights of guest speakers, the topics explored and subjects addressed that are rarely covered in other leadership programs, the sense of comradeship among peer participants, and the hospitality extended at the Newhouse (School) made this one of the best experiences I’ve had.”

– Yong Volz, 2023 Scripps Howard Leadership Academy participant, Roger Gafke Distinguished Faculty Fellow and chair of the Journalism Studies faculty at the Missouri School of Journalism

The Scripps Howard Leadership Academy at Newhouse is in its second year at Syracuse University. This training program is a partnership between the Newhouse School and the Scripps Howard Fund.
