On campus recruiting

Campus visits

The CDC welcomes employers to campus to meet and interact with students. You may hold company information sessions or conduct student interviews.You may also be able to make a class presentation. We can work with your schedule. Campus visits are free. You can contact us at 315-443-3270.

Newhouse Recruitment Collective

Each April, the Newhouse School welcomes professionals from top-notch communications companies to campus to look for entry-level talent.

The Newhouse Recruitment Collective will be held March 31 and April 1, 2020.

The Recruitment Collective kicks off with a complimentary, no charge career fair on March 31st from 4 p.m.–7 p.m., during which students can meet representatives from industry-leading organizations to speak about job and internship opportunities in the communications field. The following day, April 1, is optional and devoted to on-campus interviews from 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. for a nominal fee of $100.00.

Communications Internship Fair

Each September, Newhouse holds an informal Communications Internship Fair where companies and students can connect. Though mostly regional and local companies participate, some national companies also attend to recruit internship candidates for the following summer. See Fall Career Fair for more information and to register, or contact assistant director Bridget Lichtinger. Participation is free.

Campus-wide career fairs

Syracuse University Career Services manages opportunities in all fields of industry and holds two university-wide career fairs each year in late September and late January. Company representatives host tables while students circulate and gather information. For more information, contact SU Career Services at (315) 443-3616.

Remote recruiting

Distribute your company's open jobs or internships to Newhouse students and alumni through the CDC. Internship opportunities are listed in our email newsletters for students, and we also post openings in our office on posting boards and in our computerized internship database. To submit an opening, complete our Post Job/Internship form. This service is free to employers.
