Students in our multidisciplinary joint public relations and international relations program take classes in both the Newhouse School and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. This 58-credit, six-semester dual degree program leads to a master of arts in international relations and a master of science in public relations.

You begin your studies with an early July introductory seminar. The following summer, you complete an off-campus experience in Washington, D.C.; Geneva, Switzerland; Vienna, Austria; or Strasbourg, France. Public diplomacy courses continue into a second fall semester and conclude with a final spring internship and seminar semester in Washington, D.C. at Syracuse University's Paul Greenberg House.

See the 2020-2022 Public Relations/International Relations master's program course list for more information.
