Magazine, News and Digital Journalism

Curriculum - Newspaper and Online Journalism

In our newspaper and online journalism program (NOJ), you will build your skills on a solid base of storytelling and learn to report, write and edit print and web content on deadline. You will learn how to handle cameras as well, and develop your visual skills right away in your freshman year. You will learn about communications theory, law and ethics and have a chance to take classes in news design, online interactivity and management. You can work at dozens of independent campus publications, and also create content with peers and professors at The NewsHouse. The NOJ program requires the completion of 34 credits.

For complete major requirements and available undergraduate newspaper and online journalism courses, see the Syracuse University Course Catalog.
