Newhouse School of Communications

Magazine Journalism:

The core of the curriculum comprises a series of writing and editing courses. Students face realistic and exacting assignments that develop and perfect their research, writing and editing skills. In small classes, faculty members offer detailed critiques of their work. Other courses include such areas as newswriting, graphics, desktop publishing, photography, advertising and ethics. As with all Newhouse students, magazine journalism requires that the bulk of courses be taken in the arts and sciences, courses that help graduates become well-rounded and well-informed individuals. Most magazine students select a second major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
