The Broadcast Journalism Program in the Newhouse School has a strong tradition of graduating consummate media professionals, both on-air and behind the scenes, who have shaped the way we see and process news today. It is a professionally oriented, hands-on program which operates according to the highest of standards. Well represented among news reporters and anchors, broadcast journalism graduates are also prominent among the ranks of news producers whose training and experience enable them to set priorities among hundreds of news leads and determine the length and placement of stories in newscasts. The explosion of news outlets on cable and network television has created an ever growing need for broadcast news professionals.
