He will speak about his philosophy: "Do it big or stay in bed"

“Do it big or stay in bed.” So believes David Sable, Global CEO of Y&R, who will visit the Newhouse School on Monday, December 3, as a guest of the Eric Mower Advertising Forum. He will speak at 11 a.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. Follow on Twitter at #MowerForum.

Sable became Global CEO of Y&R in early 2011, but already had a connection with the company, having joined the Y&R training program in 1976. From there, he went to Wells Rich Greene, working on Procter & Gamble, and then to Miller Advertising to work on Kinney Shoes. After moving to Israel, he co-founded an agency, which reinforced his entrepreneurial spirit and was his first foray into high tech.

Sable rejoined Y&R upon his return to the U.S., working for both Burson-Marsteller and Cohn & Wolfe, counseling clients like Colgate-Palmolive, Digital Equipment Corporation and Coca-Cola. He returned to Y&R Advertising to lead the global portion of Colgate-Palmolive, and then helped to win the United States Postal Service consolidated account. Sable and his team built the industry’s first client website; won the first-ever interactive television award; and created a logo that is still in use today.

Sable also spent 10 years as vice chairman and COO of Wunderman, helping to transform the agency into one of the world’s leading digital networks.

His talk is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Karen Greenfield at (315) 443-2304 or kegreenf@syr.edu.
