Michael H. Weber '00 wrote the screenplay for "Our Souls at Night" with his writing partner Scott Neustadter

Michael H. Weber '00, has a new project premiering on Netflix today. Written with his writing partner Scott Neustadter, "Our Souls at Night," based on the bestselling novel by Kent Haruf, stars Robert Redford and Jane Fonda as neighbors who connect after losing their spouses.

Weber and Neustadter wrote "500 Days of Summer," an independent film released in 2009 and picked up for distribution by Fox Searchlight Pictures. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to wide critical acclaim and became a sleeper hit. Since then, the team has gone on to write the highly-praised "The Spectacular Now" and the box office smash "The Fault in Our Stars." They have two more projects slated for release in 2018: "X-Men: The New Mutants" and "Where'd You Go, Bernadette?" directed by Richard Linklater.

Michael H. Weber graduated from the Newhouse School in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in television, radio and film.
