Newhouse student takes first place in Hearst radio competition

Elissa Candiotti, a senior broadcast and digital journalism (BDJ) major, took first place in the Hearst Journalism Program's radio broadcast news and features competition for her story, "The People of Puerto Rico Plead for More Help." The top five radio winners qualify for the National Radio Championship in June.

James Groh, also a senior BDJ major, took seventh place for his story, "The Laws You Didn't Know You Were Breaking."
