Honor Professor Rick Wright on Facebook tribute page

Roosevelt "Rick" Wright Jr., associate professor of television, radio and film in the Newhouse School, is retiring this year after nearly 40 years of teaching. Alumni, students, colleagues and friends are invited to pay tribute to Wright by sharing memories and good wishes on the Rick Wright Retirement Tributes Page on Facebook.

Wright has been active in professional broadcasting, serving as general manager, program director, account executive, DJ announcer, chief engineer and local sales manager for a number of radio stations, including WGAI-AM in Elizabeth City, N.C.; WRAP-AM in Norfolk, Va.; WLLE-AM in Raleigh, N.C.; WSRC-AM, WDNC-AM/FM and WAFR-FM in Durham, N.C.;  KELP-AM in El Paso, Texas; WNDR-AM and WOLF-AM in Syracuse; WTNJ-AM, Trenton, N.J.; and WRC-AM/WKYS-FM in Washington, D.C. He has also served as faculty manager for WAER-FM in Syracuse and faculty advisor/license for student-owned and operated WJPZ-FM at Syracuse University.

Wright will be honored at a ceremony on Thursday, May 2, at 4 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. For more information about the event, contact Susan Nash at sknash@syr.edu.
