D’Angelo advocates for ethical practice of PR in response to negative LA Times op-ed

February 26, 2018

Anthony D’Angelo, professor of practice in public relations and director of the communications management program, penned a letter to the editor of the Los Angeles Times defending the ethical practice of public relations. The letter was in response to an LA Times opinion piece, “Who is Hope Hicks, anyway?,” which argued that “lying to the media is traditionally called PR.” D’Angelo’s response was noted in the Feb. 13, 2018, issue of PR News and featured on the website and social channels serving the 21,400 members of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

In addition to his role at the Newhouse School, D’Angelo is PRSA national chair.
