July 31, 2017

Newhouse School alumnus Leo Wong ’14 has been named by the 4A’s (American Association of Advertising Agencies) as one of “100 People Who Make Advertising Great.” He and the other honorees will be feted at a gala Sept. 27 in New York City.

Honorees were nominated by a submission process that was open to all U.S.-based employees of advertising agencies and industry associations. The final 100 were selected by a panel of 13 advertising professionals. The honor is part of 4A’s 100th anniversary initiative.

“The list represents individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference in the advertising industry—from creating great work to inspiring others to achieve greatness,” said Marla Kaplowitz, president and CEO of the 4A's. “It was important that, as part of celebrating our first 100 years, that we also look to the future, especially when it comes to talent and diversity.”

Wong is an account manager at Droga5. As a student at Newhouse, he took part in the 4A’s Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP) and was named 2013 MAIP Intern of the Year. He now serves on the MAIP Alumni Association’s Executive Council, and offers mentorship support to current interns.
