Keren Henderson first learned to tell visual stories as a celebrity wedding videographer and editor in Santa Barbara, California. After getting her master's degree in mass communication, she translated her storytelling skills into a career as a local television news producer. Henderson left the newsroom in 2010 to return to academia. She joins the faculty at Newhouse as a doctor of mass communication and public affairs.

Henderson's research on storytelling in local broadcast journalism focuses on the relationship between the business of making news and the art of making news. She believes that science and journalism should continue to form strong partnerships for the benefit of both news producers and news consumers.

Henderson teaches undergraduate courses in broadcast and digital journalism.
