Every organization, whether public or private, depends on maintaining good relations with groups and individuals. And all these organizations need public relations practitioners to manage these relationships. In the Newhouse Public Relations Program, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the nation, students learn how to use information to direct and evaluate communication with many types of groups, including consumers, government officials, community organizations, employees, investors and the media. They learn how to counsel the management of their organizations in matters of public opinion and social responsibility. They gain the technical skills expected of entry level professionals as well as the management skills they will need to advance in their organization.
