The photojournalism major is designed for students who wish to work in journalism, especially newspapers and magazines. Students take courses in graphic arts, newswriting, publications photography and picture editing. The graphic arts major is for those interested in taking a leadership role in the design of newspapers, magazines and interactive communications. In this computer-intensive major the emphasis is on digital photography, graphic arts, communications writing and elective courses in interactive communications. The illustration photography major is for those interested in creating images for advertising and magazine illustration. Along with photography, students take courses in graphic arts, communications writing and have elective opportunities in interactive communications and advertising.
