What We Do

The Newhouse Career Development team is dedicated to helping students and has many years of combined experience in assisting students to develop career skills in the communications industry. We offer one-on-one advising sessions to discuss career-related issues such as finding internships and jobs, interview etiquette, résumé and cover letter writing and networking.

Located at 313 Newhouse 3, the office offers a comfortable place to research communications careers, review the CDC’s internship archive, pick up handouts that cover everything from interviewing to networking, and pick up semester seminar schedule.

About the CDC

The Newhouse Career Development Center is a pioneer in the career services field, hiring a staff dedicated solely to helping students develop their professional skills. In addition, the CDC developed the Newhouse Network, a one-of-a-kind database of alumni who have volunteered to be mentors.

Our facilities include an internship archive of over 4,000 internships, career guides and tip sheets on writing standout cover letters and résumés, job interview etiquette and how to effectively network. The CDC was created to support students and beyond their time at Newhouse.
