Professor Lissit teaches television and radio writing, reporting, advanced reporting, and producing, as well as Critical Perspectives on News, a course in ethical decision making.

He is the director of the Washington summer Masters Capstone Reporting Program. Grad students primarily report for smaller TV stations in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Texas.  For six weeks each summer, the Newhouse program fields more TV reporters in Washington than any other bureau.

A former network news producer, Lissit is completing a book on network magazine programs, and is a consultant to law firms on the ethics of hidden camera reporting.

He also raises standard poodles, rides quarter horses and plays a mean game of chess.
