Professor Sharp teaches newspaper writing and reporting classes.
Her professional career as a newspaper reporter included positions at the Columbia (Missouri) Tribune, Hayward (California) Daily Review, Oakland (California) Tribune, and Syracuse Herald-Journal. She is the author of a book on communications research and served as co-editor of two books on American Legislative leaders from 1911-1994.
