Bud Carey has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of broadcasting. He left his position as Vice President and General Manager of WCBS-TV in New York City to join the Newhouse faculty in 1999. His other professional experience includes positions as President for Times Mirror Broadcasting stations in Dallas, St. Louis, Birmingham and Austin; Vice President and General Manager of WNBC-TV in New York City; Station Manager and Sales Director of KNBC in Los Angeles, and various other management and sales positions in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Carey serves as coordinator for the master's degree program in Media Management, offered jointly by the Newhouse School and SU's School of Management, and teaches courses in broadcast and cable sales, promotion, and management as a member of the Newhouse School's Television, Radio and Film Department.
