Michael Tirico '88 is Host & Play-By-Play Commentator for ESPN & ABC Sports.

Tirico plays a prominent role in the networks' NBA coverage-handling play-by-play for ESPN and hosting ABC's broadcasts-while continuing to call college football and college basketball for both networks and hosting ABC Sports' golf coverage.

Tirico joined ESPN as a "SportsCenter" anchor, later serving as host of "Monday Night Countdown" during the NFL season. He was also the anchor of ESPN's "College Football Scoreboard" and hosted the debut of "ESPNEWS." He has hosted ESPN's coverage of the U.S. Open, the Masters and the Daytona 500. He has also anchored coverage of the Super Bowl, the NCAA Final Four, and the NFL Draft. More recently, he has focused on event coverage such as the NBA Finals on ABC. He is also the voice of ESPN Radio's "SportsBeat."

Tirico was sports director at the CBS affiliate WTVH-TV and play-by-play voice for Syracuse University basketball, football, lacrosse and volleyball for the Super Sports Network of Cook CableVision. He was the first recipient of the Bob Costas Scholarship for an exceptional broadcast journalism student at Syracuse.
