Shengrong Ma, Dean of Chongqing University's School of Literature and Journalism in the People's Republic of China, and Lijun Zhao, an instructor in the school, recently visited the Newhouse School. They were accompanied by Newhouse alumna Arthur Liu '66, president and CEO of Multicultural Radio Broadcasting Inc.
The three day visit culminated in the two schools signing a memorandum of understanding to explore mutually beneficial partnerships and scholarly exchanges.
The visitors met with Dean Lorraine Branham and Associate Dean Joel Kaplan, and toured Central New York.
Liu also met with the 2009-2010 Liu Fellowship recipients: Netanel Katz, Bo Wen, Shuai Liu, Tamara Vallejos, Josh Meny, Xianwei Wu, Tiago Moura, Carren Jao, Aiste Ptakauskaite and Vidhu Kalia.
The fellowship program supports students pursuing multi-cultural studies.
