April 29, 2009

The media's top writers, readers and leaders will gather to honor winners in the third annual Mirror Awards competition on Tuesday, June 9, at 11:45 a.m. at the Harmonie Club, 4 East 60th Street, New York City. The awards are sponsored by Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

For pricing information and to purchase tickets, see mirrorawards.syr.edu. Tickets may be purchased online or by regular mail.

This year's luncheon co-chairs are Betsy Morgan, CEO, The Huffington Post; Devin Wenig, CEO, Markets Division, Thomson Reuters; and David Zaslav, president and CEO, Discovery Communications.

Established by the Newhouse School in 2006, the Mirror Awards honor the reporters, editors and teams of writers who hold a mirror to their own industry for the public's benefit. The competition is open to anyone who conducts reporting, commentary or criticism of the media industries in a format intended for a mass audience. Winners are chosen by a group of journalists and journalism educators.
