What happens to fashion during challenging economic times? David Wolfe, creative director of The Doneger Group, will explore this topic when he comes to Syracuse University on Tuesday, March 24. He will speak at 3:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in SU pay lots.
Wolfe will discuss how fashion can survive an economic meltdown and will compare today to other challenging times in fashion history, including the Great Depression and World War II.
The Doneger Group is a fashion merchandising and consulting group. Wolfe is one of the fashion industry's most quoted authorities, having earned international credentials for his work as a fashion, color and trend forecaster. Prior to joining the company in 1990, he spent 10 years at The Fashion Service, a trend-forecasting service he founded and managed. He previously served as creative director of I.M. International, one of the world's first fashion forecasting and consulting firms.
His talk is sponsored by YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund; The Doneger Group; the Fashion Communications Milestone in the S.I.
