FAQs:
I graduated from Newhouse a few years ago. How can the CDC help me?
Though you may no longer be on campus, you're still part of the Newhouse family - which means we are equally dedicated to helping you advance your career. Our counselors are available to review your resume and cover letter, as well as provide you with networking contacts from the Newhouse Alumni Career Advisory Network. We are also available, by appointment, for in-person or phone consultations. In addition, you may sign up for JobOps - our bi-weekly alumni listserv that's loaded with job postings, alumni events and post-grad tips. Click here for more information.
Can I still request NACAN pulls even though I'm no longer a student?
Students and alumni are able to reference the Newhouse Alumni Career Advisory Network, the school's database of over 3,400 alumni. You may request a limited number (10) of records of individuals who work or whose backgrounds are in a job field you are interested in (for networking purposes). The only catch? You yourself must be a member of NACAN in order to have your request fulfilled. For instructions on how to join NACAN and make a NACAN request, click here.
I'd love to join NACAN so that I can serve as a networking contact for current students. How can I do that?
The ever-growing NACAN database is always in need of new members. To file or update your personal NACAN record, click here. Please note that your record is only as updated as you make it! Be sure to submit new information to us should you move, get promoted, switch organizations, etc.
My company is always looking to post internships and job openings, and I'd love to get the word out about them to Newhouse students and alumni. What can I do?
The CDC is always available to help you and your company with your recruiting needs. We can: Advertise (free) internship, job or opportunity postings on our student and alumni listservs; post listings in our office; arrange on-campus visits and interview sessions; arrange for your participation in university career fairs, and more.
