Studying Abroad

Newhouse students can see and study the world through the SU Abroad program as well as special industry partnerships. Whether you're interested in Bollywood filmmaking or practicing public relations or advertising in Dubai, Newhouse offers opportunities for travel and study in a variety of international locations.

Bollywood Internship

Since 2008, television, radio and film associate professor Tula Goenka has led students to India for the SU Abroad course “Bollywood Snapshots: SU Internships in Mumbai.” The four-week internship course allows students to work directly with Indian filmmakers and production companies.

Dubai Internship Program

Newhouse's Dubai Internship Program was developed by SU alumnus Reda Raad ’95, in collaboration with Newhouse Dean Lorraine Branham. Raad runs TBWA/RAAD, an advertising and public relations agency, which offers annual internships to Newhouse students. Kevin O’Neill, professor of practice in advertising at Newhouse, directs the Dubai Internship Program.

NBC Olympics Internships

NBC Sports has hired hundreds of college students in recent decades to work as interns for the Olympic Games. Newhouse students typically land many of those internships and NBC has hired some of them to work full-time for the network after the Games.
