The Newhouse master's degree program in photography helps students understand the rich heritage of still photography as they explore the evolving world of multimedia storytelling. Whether your focus is on illustrative, advertising or photojournalistic storytelling/photography, you will develop a solid foundation of traditional skills needed to work at a high level in your area of interest, while simultaneously adding audio, video, Flash, non-linear editing and other content-gathering skills in classes focused on new ways of producing and delivering content.
In addition to multimedia and traditional photography courses, students often take classes in graphic arts, writing, advertising and interactive communications. As skills develop, a required master’s project or thesis rounds out that expertise and your portfolio as you head back into the industry.
See the 2016-2017 PHO master's program course list for more information.
