Luis Rendon graduated from the Magazine, Newspaper and Online Journalism program in 2011. While at Newhouse, he focused on news design and quickly landed a job as a designer for the Victoria Advocate, a newspaper in Texas.

Andrew Maclean graduated from the Photography master’s program in 2010. Andrew currently works in NYC as a multimedia producer for Inc.com.

Brandi Kellam graduated from the Broadcast and Digital Journalism program in 2011. Since graduation she landed a job as a production assistant at MSNBC in New York City.

Colin Thorn graduated from the Public Relations program in 2011. While at Newhouse he interned with the PR director of St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and was active in Syracuse’s PR firm Hill Communications. After graduating, Colin quickly landed his current job at Lockheed Martin, one of the world’s largest defense contractors.

Amanda Kapsales graduated from the Advertising program in 2010. After graduation, she worked for the New York Yankees and the New York Red Bulls before landing her current job at DraftFCB, one of the largest advertising agencies in the world.

Nikki Kahn graduated from the Photography program in 2004. After graduation, she joined the staff of the Washington Post as a photojournalist. In 2011, Nikki won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography.

Racquel Asa graduated from the Broadcast and Digital Journalism program in 2009. “Bit by the news bug” as an undergraduate, Asa worked as a reporter at a small market TV affiliate in Binghamton for 3 years before coming to Newhouse.

When John Zinni graduated from Television, Radio and Film program at Newhouse, he was able to turn his passion for sports into a sustainable career, nurtured by Newhouse faculty and fellow students. He recommends that future students take advantage of every opportunity.

Sean Sweeney graduated from the Magazine, Newspaper, and Online journalism program in 2010. He now works for Dime Magazine, the home for “all things hoop.”

Kristen Rajczak graduated from the Arts Journalism program in 2010 and now she writes and edits children’s books for Gareth Stevens Publishing. Her program gave her the chance to sit in on a New York City Ballet rehearsal and get a glimpse of a famous actress, Julianne Moore.

Sarah Goldfarb works as the associate editor for the U.S. Department of State’s official blog. But before she landed in the nation’s capital, she was a Public Diplomacy student grappling with graphics. Now, thanks to one Newhouse professor, she can design “unique content” everyday at her job.

Over three years ago, Ashley Harrington wasn’t sure if Newhouse was right for her, but a dedicated professor sold her on the spot within minutes. She now works for Focus Features and organizes foreign film releases.

Christine Tebcherany now works for Hearst and develops advertising campaigns for the latest iPad apps. As an Advertising student at Newhouse, Tebcherany met an “amazing” mentor and gained real world experience through a trip to New York City.

Audrey Bo Wen can say that she helped with the 2010 World Economic Forum. As a part of the team at Ogilvy PR in Beijing, Wen uses the skills she learned as a Public Relations student while at Newhouse.

Brad Horn graduated from the Photography master’s program in 2010. Now, he works as a freelance multimedia producer. Since graduation he's worked with NPR, MediaStorm, AARP and Luceo Images.

Tamara Vallejos completed the Arts Journalism program in 2010. After finishing her program with an internship for the Aspen Music Festival, she started working at the Seattle Opera.

Beth Long reports weekly from the Syracuse sidelines as a part of her job with Time Warner Cable Sports. Through the real world experience she received as a student in the Broadcast Journalism program at Newhouse she learned the fundamentals of on-air reporting. Long also pursued opportunities to take classes taught by faculty whose resumes include ESPN.

Jason Struss now works at Marvel Entertainment in New York. Six months ago he graduated from the Television, Radio and Film master’s program at Newhouse with the skills necessary to “aim high.” His only regret? Not drinking more coffee.

Jason Adams entered the journalism field straight from undergrad over six years ago. He was looking for more specialized training, specifically in new media, so he decided to pursue a master's in Magazine, Newspaper and Online Journalism at Newhouse. Now he credits Newhouse with giving him an edge in the industry.
