ADMISSION CRITERIA
|
This program is designed for public
relations practitioners who have at least five years
of full-time professional experience in public relations
or a related specialty area.
The basic admission criteria for
this ISDP program are the same as, and in some instances,
even more exacting than, those for applicants seeking
admission to the traditional master's degree programs.
Classes form once a year,
in August. A maximum of 25 students are admitted each
year.

- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited
college or university
- Minimum of five years full-time experience
in public relations or a related field
- Submission of scores from standardized
aptitude tests (GREs or GMATs)
- Three letters of recommendation (including
one from the current employer or client)
- A written personal essay that explains
why the applicant is seeking further education and how the
applicant plans to be successful as an independent learner
- A portfolio of work samples demonstrating
professional communication experience
- An interview is optional, but encouraged
whenever possible (either in person or by telephone)
APPLICATION
Applications for the Fall 2007 Semester
should be received at Newhouse no later than May 15,
2007.
Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. Notification
will be made in July of 2007.
