Your search for a professional, hands-on masters degree program in broadcast and digital journalism ends at Newhouse.
Here’s what we do best: Make you career-ready after just a little more than a year’s training. (Check out our Alumni page to see some of our grads’ career paths.)
BDJ is an immersion program that starts with our summer Boot Camp, where virtually every class day you’ll be a working student journalist covering real stories.
It ends the next summer in Washington, D.C., where you could be reporting as a D.C. stringer for stations across the country, producing sports stories for local or national sports media, or telling stories in innovative ways at digital news operations in the nation’s capital…the opportunities are impressive.
Between summers, you’ll be reporting some more, shooting, editing, anchoring, and producing news for traditional and new media platforms. (Check out our NCC News site below and our Student Work page.)
Prospective graduate students often ask if they need to arrive with journalism experience to be successful in an intense program like ours. The answer is no.
Please do bring your interesting experiences and ideas, a passion for telling meaningful stories in creative ways, a positive attitude, and a good work ethic.
